Star Wars x Motorola Droid 2 – R2-D2 Edition
According to the folks over at Engadget who has heard from a little bird (well more like their trusted source) the iPhone haters will be having something to rejoice come August 12 because that’s when Verizon is scheduled to release the highly-leaked Droid 2. Sure, the release date seem to put an end in sight for techies who have been straining their necks to see the silver Google-powered lining in the smart phone horizon, but the best part about the news isn’t exactly when to get your plastic ready from your wallet. It is that there will be a R2-D2 edition of the Droid 2 phone. A collaboration with Star Wars is not news for Motorola who had to license the name from Lucasfilms, but we are quite sure, when you hold up your cellphone grazed with R2-D2 on the back, it will feel more “Droid” than ever. While Engadget is not sure if the special R2-D2 edition will be released alongside the Droid 2, they do know that somewhere, in that same plane of horizon where the Droid 2 used to reside in clandestine existence, is where the R2-D2 Droid 2 is now.
