According to Jason Argent, the vice president of marketing for 2K Sports, Jordan will appear on the cover of NBA 2K11 which is slated to debut on October 5th, 2010.
“We’ve made a lot of progress over the past 10 years, but we know we have the best NBA video game ever made here,” Argent stated. “So we thought to ourselves how can we embody that and there was only one person on that list who we wanted to have and that was Michael Jordan. Actually getting this done is the most ridiculous win of all-time.”
No further details have been released as to what role Michael Jordan (the video game Michael Jordan) will play in the highly anticipated video game; however MJ himself is ready to return to the game…virtually.
“It’s an honor to be featured on the cover of NBA 2K11,” said Michael Jordan. “I have no doubt that NBA 2K11 will be a big hit with gamers and basketball fans alike. I’m looking forward to getting back out on the court, virtually.”
Obviously, this is not the first time Michael Jordan and video games have been directly connected in some sort. Besides 2004, Michael Jordan was not involved in any video games due to the licensing agreement he had with the NBA which basically stated that his rights were not a part of the licensing agreement group that included the rest of the NBA players.
